Software Licence Agreement
Last updated: August 26, 2026
This Licence Agreement ("Licence") describes the rights Fold Company ("Fold," "we," "us," or "our") grants to you ("you" or "Customer") in the Fold.page software when you obtain a licence key, whether through a paid purchase or free evaluation use. This Licence supplements, and is incorporated by reference into, our Terms of Service. If there is a conflict between the two on a matter specific to your licence key, this Licence controls.
1. Grant of Licence
By purchasing and obtaining a licence key through our secure checkout, Fold grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable licence to use that key — and the Fold.page software it unlocks — in production on one (1) domain that you own or control, together with that domain's subdomains. This licence covers a single production deployment per key; it does not, by itself, extend to any other domain, property, or customer.
2. Development and Evaluation Use
You may install, build with, and evaluate Fold.page on localhost and non-public development or staging environments free of charge and without a licence key, with all features included. A licence key is only required once you deploy Fold.page to a live, publicly reachable production domain.
3. Scope and Restrictions
Your licence key is granted subject to the following conditions. You may not:
- Use a single licence key across multiple, unrelated production domains or on behalf of a different customer;
- Circumvent, disable, or attempt to defeat the domain-lock or licence verification mechanism described in Section 4;
- Sell, sublicense, rent, lease, or otherwise redistribute your licence key or the Service as a standalone product;
- Remove or obscure any proprietary notices contained in the Service; or
- Represent that you are Fold or that Fold endorses your website solely by virtue of holding a licence key.
Purchasing a second licence for the same domain you have already licensed will deterministically return the same key rather than issuing a new one — this is expected behavior, not an error, and does not entitle you to an additional refund.
4. Domain Binding and Verification
Each licence key is cryptographically bound to the exact domain you provide at checkout, and is validated against that domain (and its subdomains) at runtime. A key issued for one domain will not activate the Service on a different domain. If you need to move your licence to a new or additional domain — for example, following a site migration or rebrand — contact us at the address in Section 9 and we will work with you to reissue it.
5. Term; "Lifetime" Key
Your licence key does not expire and carries no recurring fee. Because Fold.page continues to evolve, a major version release may introduce a licensing or verification change that requires you to obtain an updated key to continue receiving that major version's updates; your existing key will continue to operate on the version it was issued for. We will provide reasonable advance notice before any such change takes effect for existing customers.
6. Reservation of Rights
This Licence is a grant of rights to use the Service, not a sale. Fold and its licensors retain all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including all associated intellectual property rights. No rights are granted to you other than those expressly set out in this Licence.
7. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or revoke a licence key if we determine, acting reasonably, that it is being used in material breach of this Licence — including the restrictions in Section 3 — and that breach is not cured within a reasonable time after notice. Sections 4, 6, and 8–10 survive any termination or revocation.
8. Enterprise and Custom Licensing
High-volume deployments, multi-domain portfolios, or other custom requirements are available under separate, individually negotiated terms. See our Pricing page or contact us to discuss an Enterprise licence.
